Cinderella Spinderella! an illustrated urban ebook
Coming September 2013!
“It doesn’t matter how you look, what matters is who you are.”
– Fairy Godmother from “Cinderella Spinderella”
Mark Binder and Steve Mardo are creating a completely different way of seeing the classic story of “Cinderella.”
Not only is the tale updated, modern and urban, their new beautifully illustrated ebook for children gives readers the option to choose which “season” of Cinderella they want to read. Will you and your child pick a Cinderella who is black or white, Asian, Hispanic or from the Indian subcontinent?
“Several years ago,” explained author Mark Binder. “I was telling stories in Newport at a camp for kids with handicaps, and that same summer I was up in Boston sharing stories with inner-city young people. What story could connect these urban and handicapped listeners? How about Cinderella, but with a spin…? The story was familiar, but had a nice urban grit to it. And over the years, I was always impressed that it never mattered to listeners that Cinderella was in a wheel chair!”
Nothing gets her down. She keeps a smile on her face and a smile in her heart, and when she finally meets her prince it is on her own terms.
Mark Binder is an author who knows how to tell the right story for any age. His award-winning books and audio albums include, “The Bed Time Story Book”, “Classic Stories for Boys and Girls” and “It Ate My Sister.”
Steve Mardo is a newcomer to ebook illustration—but his drawings of Cinderella, the Prince, Fairy Godmother and of course the Stepsisters are sure to bring smiles and laugher.
Cinderella Spinderella will be available as an ebook for Kindle, Nook, Kobo, iPad and Android in September 2013
